Shore temple is built facing east such that the sunrays beautifully illuminate the image of Shivalinga. Eighteen meters high pyramidal structure sits on a 15 meters square platform. It marks to be the first structural temple constructed by the Pallavas. Large sculptures of Nandi, the vahana of the vehicle of Lord Shiva add to the charm of the temple.
